Tradition Shared

Growing up, my family would go to San Mateo Rizal where my father grew up to watch and join the procession.

We would either go Wednesday or Friday or both days. First, we would go to my father's father side where the Nazarene was and still is housed. There, we would have a light early dinner, and wait for the procession to begin. Soon as the Nazarene passed by the house, we would walk behind it to my father's mother side.

There we would have San Mateo Rizal's famous pospas and kakanin. Yummy!

Since becoming a mom, I haven't joined that tradition. My family and I instead would go with my husband's family on a vacation.

This year, Papa invited all of us to join him, and we did.

My son didn't enjoy it very much especially coming from a fun-filled stay at the hotel with cousins, and pretty much like me when I was his age, but I do hope he appreciates it in time.

Between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, there's Saturday. Pain, confusion, it seems like all is lost. Sometimes it feels like we live in the Saturday - But what no one knew is that Saturday had been overcome! LIGHT shines in the darkness, even in the darkest night! - (in)courage
