I'm That Kind of Mom Part 2

I always wanted to be stay-at-home mom. As a preschooler, I rocked my dolls and dreamed of the day they would be real babies. I grew older, and still the dream did not fade. -"Hearth Smart" by Janeen Lewis from Chicken Soup for the Soul: Stay-At-Home Moms.

The words could very well be my own. I remember turning my big blue room in my childhood home into a home where I would take care of my dolls the whole day. I remember feeding, bathing, and teaching my baby doll  throughout the day. When the baby doll was asleep, I would clean the house. Sometimes, I would even go to our garden to pick leaves and flowers I would cook in my real but small clay cooking set that my Yaya Marlyn gave me from her hometown in Iloilo.

When young ladies were dreaming of their wedding day, I was dreaming of my husband and our children. How we would have two children - a boy first and a girl next - two years apart.  How my husband would work, and I would stay at home to take care of my children.

That dream would stay in the back of my mind, and would come around only when I'm alone. I've always known my mom had a very big influence on how I lived, but I never knew that little dream would have a great impact on my decisions too.

Now that I think about it ... I am living my dream :)
