Schools have been cancelled ...
Offices have been cancelled ...
It's so nice to sleep in on a cold Monday morning.
However, my family and I experienced horrible traffic due to small floods here and there on the streets of Manila last night.
Thinking of all the people that were stuck in traffic, that were stuck outside and got wet in the rain, and worst of all those people in their shanty homes, stuck and nowhere to go, seemed only fair to stand up and expect that there was still work despite the weather. I was blessed. I was ready. I couldn't even think of complaining.
So after my four hour sleep, I got up very early to start my long day. After I took my shower at 4:30 in the morning, my client replied to my confirmation text, informing me work was postponed. I was relieved because it meant not having to go through traffic and getting wet from having to go outside the van, in someone's home, back in the van and repeat that several times throughout the day.
However, I was not my usual exhilarated self. It was just a matter of fact.
I pray for everyone and thank God for my family's safety and luxury of snuggling in this cold, rainy Monday.
